Welcome to Wyreside Lakes Fishery and Campsite: Wyreside Lakes is a family run business, situated in over 120 acres of farmland at the foot of the Bowland Fells in Dolphinholme Lancashire. On the estate there are 7 fishing lakes - with a superb stocking of coarse and pike and for walkers and those who appreciate nature, the River Wyre meanders through the property alongside the beautiful bluebell laden Fox’s wood.
SPRING / SUMMER OPENING TIMES Months of: APRIL, MAY, JUNE, JULY, AUGUST, SEPTEMBER & OCTOBER - MONDAY - SUNDAY 7am till 7pm
AUTUMN /WINTER OPENING TIMES Months of: JANUARY, FEBRUARY, MARCH, NOVEMBER & DECEMBER - MONDAY TILL SUNDAY 8am till 5pm
Over the last 27 years the estate has been transformed and now not only appeals to anglers but also to families and couples alike who wish to have a relaxing break in a beautiful setting without having to travel long distances to Britain’s national parks. The estate now boasts a recreational centre with bar, restaurant and function room as well as a large camping and caravanning site. Also in the main building there is a small site camping and tackle shop, laundry room and a modern toilet & shower block. The Fisherman's Restaurant serves food every weekend and the function room is the perfect location for any type of event from weddings or birthday celebrations or even to use for training or corporate purposes. All throughout the year there are various events held each week, from Karaoke /discos to themed nights and live entertainment. Wyreside Lakes has all the facilities that you need for a short break / holiday or even just a fabulous day out in the countryside.
With effect from the 25th March 2019 the Wyreside Estate (therein all lakes and non permissive pathways) are now closed to external walkers. The Wyre Way which runs through the property remains open and there are new signs in place directing walkers in and out from Street Bridge to Guys Farm or vice versa. The property remains open to customers who either book for fishing or for camping onto the estate, whereby all their details are formally collected in accordance with the site rules, regulations and security policies.
Visitors by car will still be given access to walk around the estate- on arrival visitors must park in the top car park before the barriers and come and sign in at reception. They will be given a map and directions onward through the new predation fencing gates. Visitors are limited to a maximum of 4 persons and any dogs must be on a lead at all times - poo bags are also available from reception. There is is a £1 charge per vehicle. Non client vehicles will not be allowed access onto the fishery / lakes to enable us to keep traffic to a minimum around the fishery and also for security issues.
Reasons for closure.
Initially, in 2017 it was discussed between the partners and land owners about the dangers in the Foxes wood area because of the banking erosion with the storms since Storm Desmond in winter 2015 and then 'The Beast from the East' in winter 2018. In total we have lost over 20 meters of banking and it continues to detach and come away in high water. The land owners and the environment agency are still working on a solution some 4 years later and are currently tendering contractors for this mammoth task.
After discussions with anglers –members and day ticket alike, it was clear that customers wish to have peace and quiet on the lakes and do not wish to be disturbed by high volumes of walkers or dogs.
In March 2019 a 2 mile perimeter predation & security fencing was erected in a circular loop around the fishery which must remain secure with access gates closed at all times when not in use. We now only allow vehicles / clients onto the property who have checked in at reception to minimise the risk of predators / thieves entering the fishery.

"We phoned you last minute on Saturday afternoon and stayed with you Sat and Sun night on the lower field. I just wanted to say that I thought your site was fab. It had everything that we needed but just at the right size (not too small and not too big). We found you all to be very friendly and helpful and completely enjoyed our weekend and felt very at home. Don't change anything!!! Thanks for a wonderful weekend and we will definitely booking again" - Mrs Emma Pook
"Thank you all for such a lovely weekend. It was lovely to see you all after 10 years. The campsite is lovely and really well run. Thank you for all the hospitality we recieved. We shall see you all in July" - Liz and Danni
Liked: Found this site by chance when looking for a camping pod. The welcome was very friendly . The pod was big enough for us with our double airbed, it had electric lights and a socket which was a bonus. We took our gazebo to house our cooker etc as there is no outside shelter in case of rain. Its a lovely site and we enjoyed walks round the lakes and there are plenty of birds, rabbits and hares to watch. The shower and toilets are spotlessly clean and free to use. We went into Lancaster which was lovely and also to Blackpool and Fleetwood . The site has a pub/restaurant which also has another room for entertainment . A really enjoyable few days and we would definitely return. Thank you Sally and Bob for the warm welcome. We don't fish but have recommended the site to family members who would enjoy the choice of lakes there. 10/10 - Clare McKnight
"Thank you for a lovely night. You have such a lovely spot, your staff are so friendly and helpful and your facilities are excellent! This was our daughter's first time camping and she enjoyed the adventure(and winning best dancer at the disco night!!). I'm sure we will visit again some time and maybe hope for a little less rain! Thanks again." - Caroline,Mark and Lauren Edwards

"fantastic weekend that Carp Team England enjoyed at Wyreside Lakes. The venue was absolutely stunning and the reaction from the squad when they took their first look at Wyre Lake and the complex as a whole, said it all. Breathtaking and jaw dropping reactions were on all the squads faces and they could not wait to get cracking with the fishing. Every body truly enjoyed the whole experience and your famous hospitality. The quality of the fishing was superb and the fish themselves were all exceptional specimens, a true testament to the exceptional fishery management and the care of syndicate members looking after these wonderful creatures". - Ian Huntington
