Jobs

We are looking for part-time Bar and Restaurant server, to be part of our busy team, to work during our forthcoming summer season.

** We are hiring these roles to start as soon as possible.**

** Due to the rural location of the business, you must have own transport as there are no direct links to public transport and also for your safety, when leaving the site during the hours of darkness. We are approximately 5 miles from Lancaster Uni.**

About the Role

The role of the Bar and Restaurant Server is essential in ensuring guests have a great experience while visiting Wyreside Lakes, welcoming everybody in our bar and restaurant, serving alcohol and other beverages, as well as food.  Cleaning to maintain health and safety standards is also an essential part of the role.  Due to the nature of this role, you can expect to work weekends, which will involve some early starts, around 8 am and late finishes after midnight.  For this reason it is important to us that you are safe when you travel to and from work and be reliable and on time. You will need your own transport and be prepared to work, unsociable hours.

About Us

On the estate there are 6 fishing lakes - with a superb stocking of coarse and pike, with the River Wyre meandering through the property alongside the beautiful woodland.

Over the last 30 years the estate has been transformed by the Birkin family and appeals to fishermen and families who wish to have a relaxing break in a beautiful setting, without having to travel long distances to Britain’s national parks. Our busiest times are weekends, especially bank holidays and school holidays.  July and August are naturally our busiest months and when you could expect to work, the majority of your time with us.

We are open to campers and self-caterers, who benefit from our catering facilities, including bar, restaurant and function room as well as a 4 star camping and caravanning site, open to caravans, tents and glamping pods.

Also, in the main building there is a small site camping and tackle shop, laundry room and several toilet & shower blocks, all of which we maintain to a high standard for our guests.

  • Job title – Bar and Restaurant server

  • Hours - 15 hours per week, typically Friday – Sunday with potential for early starts and late finishes.

  • Duration – from February – October and MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK PEAK SEASON INCLUDING BANK HOLIDAY WEEKENDS AND SUMMER HOLIDAYS - JULY, AND AUGUST.

  • Location – Wyreside Lakes LA2 9XL.  OWN TRANSPORT IS ESSENTIAL AS NO ACCESS TO PUBLIC TRANSPORT.  This is imperative within the ad as we are based on farmland in a rural location with no access to public transport. Applicants can expect to be leaving late at night and for health and safety purposes require safe transport home.

  • Rate of pay – in line with current minimum wage increasing from April 2025 £12.21 for aged 21+, £10.00 for aged 18-21, £7.55 aged 16-17. Annual leave will be accrued on a pro rata basis for seasonal staff.

Experience – previous experience of working in hospitality or front of house customer service would be beneficial but not essential as training will be given.
